Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to everyone! Kim and I attended the Vigil mass at St. Patrick's here in Urbana. The mass was beautiful. We baptized four new catechumens and many candidates were confirmed. Our pastor, who was celebrating his last vigil mass before his retirement, gave a touching homily. I still get emotional during the Litany of the Saints. I don't know why, but I love being reminded of all the Christians who went before me, suffering for Christ each in their own unique way. The experience was the culmination of the last 3 days of prayer. Thursday was the feast of the Last Supper, and yesterday was the mass of Christ's Passion. Before I started attending the Triduum, I did not fully appreciate the liturgical beauty of Easter.
