Tortellini of Funk

The simple version:



  1. Boil water and start the tortellini according to the directions on the package.
  2. When there's about 1 minute left on the tortellini, pour marinara sauce into bowl. Put in the microwave on high for 30 seconds.
  3. Drain tortellini. Add cream to bowl; add tortellini. Stir. Eat.
  4. Send feedback. Too creamy? Not creamy enough?

The jazzed-up version:

Use this variation when you want a treat or for guests. It's richer than the quick version. It serves two.



  1. Start water for tortellini. Put butter in small saucepan and heat until it melts. Add flour and cook, stirring, for 5 minutes.
  2. Add cream slowly, stirring constantly, until flour clumps dissolve. Turn heat to lowest setting. Add marinara sauce and herbs or spinach. Cover. Keep stirring occasionally.
  3. Cook tortellini according to instructions on package.
  4. Pour cream sauce over tortellini and serve.
