This is not a real post

Aug. 3, 2001

I was talking to Evan, another dop member, last night, and we came up with this great idea - to set up a circle of fictional web journals, which represent a group of friends in some small-town State University. These people would have sites that acted just like other web journals, and would post topics accordingly, etc.

I thought this was a simply fantastic idea, and could be a great piece of fiction, if we do it right. We could get people to pose for pictures, all sorts of things. Hey, if nothing else, the sheer volume of sites would have to drive at least some traffic to our site. Anyway, I think I'm going to get started with this, maybe put together a few characters. We could just start out with a few guys, setting up a web page, and then have everyone else get involved, since that seems more realistic. Not everyone would link to everyone else, only those people whose sites they read. This way, it will be easy to tell who knows about what the other person is saying.

I'm really excited about this, I hope we can pull it off.
