Schedule

Feb. 3, 2004

My Ph.D. qualifying exam is now officially scheduled for February 16. If the past exams I've been working are any indication, it will be insanely hard. I get two chances, but if I pass it the first time I won't have to worry about it any more. I should probably be more stressed about it, but my personality doesn't go that way much.

My weekly schedule is surprisingly busy. I only have one class MWF, but I teach 2 discussion sections on Monday for 373. Combine that with preparation for said classes, and that's Monday completely gone. Tuesdays are busy as well, with 3 hours of class and a 1 hour group meeting. Wednesdays are refreshingly light, but I've been trying to devote Wednesdays to qual study, with mixed success. Thursdays are much like Tuesdays, without the research meeting. Friday I have office hours in addition to my regular class, and usually meet with Dr. Ramos to discuss homework solutions.

Hopefully, once I'm (successfully?) done with the qual, this semester will get a lot less stressful.
