I've been working from home the last two days so I can help Kim take care of Juliana. Juliana's been no trouble at all since she's still in the eat-poop-sleep stage of her life. Once we move to Minneapolis I'll be telecommuting full-time so I'm thinking of this as a taste of the future.

Pros: My own coffee-pot, playing music on speakers instead of headphones, the people are cuter
Cons: only one monitor, no free lunch, no free diet mountain dew

I've fallen in love again with ssh. It has probably done more for the world than any other software ever written. After discovering that native X11 was far too slow to get anything done, I discovered NX which I tunnel over ssh to provide a fast remote desktop experience. I tunnel CVS over ssh so I can use a native eclipse. Of course, all these tunnels are going through a third intermediate box which is the only way into the intranet from the outside world. And all of it is securely encrypted and unbreakable by even the most well-equipped governments.

On moving to MN, I'm definitely going to need to buy some nice big LCD monitors.
