For today's post, I've decided to share another pair of video game arrangements.
Game Over - Little Mac's Confession: This isn't so much a remix as a lyrical adaptation. German game music band Game Over presents this rendition of the theme from Punch-Out (aka Mike Tyson's Punch Out). It has the 80s power-guitar feel reminiscent of other sports-related work such as "Eye of the Tiger." Game Over includes original lyrics and some great guitar solos.
Midiguy - Link's Theme (Grandale Mix): I include this mix partially for the irony in remixing a video game score to make it sound more like a different video game. Midiguy takes Koji Kondo's "Link Theme" from The Legend of Zelda and makes it sound like a Dance Dance Revolution track. I judge it a success, since I start looking for the arrows and the dance pad every time this track makes its way to the top of my playlist. Good, fast dance beat.
