Java Certification

Aug. 22, 2001

I passed the Sun Java Programmer Certification test today, which enables me to proudly display the Sun Certified Programmer seal wherever I please. That is, once I get the official notification of my score in the mail. I didn't do as well as I'd expected, mostly because I totally bombed the section on "Language Fundamentals" which, as far as I could gather, tested my understanding of the rules governing Inner Classes, which I don't often have the opportunity to use except in the context of event handlers. Its sort of like I understand Finnegan's Wake, but I'm still a little iffy on the "verb" thing.

One thing that was sort of odd: on the test, I had two questions which were completely identical. They were one question apart, so I kept flipping back and forth between them, trying to see any difference I could. But there really wasn't one. Sort of silly, since then that question counts double. I hope I didn't miss that one.

I need to figure out why my page doesn't seem to work properly in Netscape. Sort of annoying to know that thousands of netscape users are barred from viewing my site it is proper chromatic context.
