Is it working?

Sept. 23, 2005

My schedule seems to be working better now. I seem to be incapable of getting any amount of work done after 8 pm or so (what a slacker), so it is very important that I get the morning research time in. Unfortunately, Combinatorics eats away massive amounts of my time. Wednesday morning so far have also been devoted to last minute write-ups and Tuesday recuperation. One serious problem with schedules like these, which I had forgotten since leaving my old regular job, is that the week seems to skip by much faster.

I also haven't made it back to Tae Kwon Do yet. I know this is just because I'm so much out of the habit and discipline, my short term desire for laziness trumps my long-term desire for martial arts skill. When I used to go with Wild Chris, my secondary mutual obligation kept me in check. However, I feel much healthier when I kick things on a regular basis, so I should get back to it next week. I'm also a little embarassed about returning after such a long absence. Kim has decided she prefers the low-impact workout of Yoga. I'm enjoying that, but I need some cardiovascular exercise to supplement it.

This Sunday I'm going to my first Magic: The Gathering prerelease tournament. I played the game about 10 years ago, but that was before prereleases or even blocks. I've started playing again recently thanks to online play, and I've decided that a prerelease sounds like enough fun to try driving out to Indianapolis and giving it a shot.
