End of the Veigh-Keigh

Nov. 25, 2001

Well, my nice 4 day weekend is coming to an end. Several good times were had. Today we went to Mass at St. Patrick's parish because one of the priests in Kim's class invited us over for lunch, which was directly after that Mass. St. Patrick's is this really old church (~1850) right next to another Catholic church, St. Hedwig's. St. Patrick's was for the Irish immigrants, and St. Hedwig's was for the Polish ones. For some reason, the Irish and Poles wouldn't attend Mass together. Normally, this would have led to having two separate Masses in the same building, but I guess the enmity was so great that they couldn't even share the same building. Quite sad really. Anyway, nowadays everyone gets along just fine, and the two parishes have combined into one, but they still have these two buildings there. There are nearly identical. Its sort of funny to look at.

Some things to look forward to for next week:

Finishing my c++ project at work.

Getting my new computer.

Fixing some of the mounting Lumberjack bugs.

Playing more Civ 3.
