Burning vacation time

I get more vacation time at work every September 1, since that is the anniversary of my start date. We're only allowed to roll 5 days into the next calendar year, so every August I start looking for reasons to take time off work. This August I decided to take almost every Friday off for the whole month, manufacturing my own 3 day weekends.
Last weekend was the US National Magic Championships, so I took Friday off to check out the scene. I played in a side event and won 6th place, which earned me a $25 Best Buy gift card. The next Friday I stayed home with my son Thomas to take him to the pediatrician for his regular check-up and to the zoo afterwards. For once the lions weren't sleeping and we got to hear them roar. This upcoming Friday we're all going to Pulaski, Wisconsin to see our friend Jason Welle take his solemn vows and join the Order of Friars Minor (aka the Franciscans). We're probably also going to take a field trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin just to see what things are like even farther north than here. Finally, I'm going to spend the remainder of my vacation time prior to Labor day weekend so we can go visit our friends Erin and Jeff in St. Louis.
